
It’s not much of a secret that events and parties are much more complicated than they used to be. Everything from weddings to baby showers have become much more involved than they were even 20 years ago, much less 100 or 150.
While weddings used to be small events involving only a few community members and a few symbolic ceremonies like the tying of threads from the bride’s and grooms clothes, today they are attended by hundreds of guests and take months or even years to plan. Baby showers used to be attended by women only so that the mother to be could receive necessary items and advice about baby care. Today, we not only see “Jack and Jill” showers, but diaper cakes, gender reveal pastries, onesie decoration, and luxurious gifts.
