San Diego, California – Free the Apps!, the developers of 911 Police Radio HD, has launched a new version of their popular iPhone app for iPad users. The application offers thousands of emergency radio stations to listen to, lets users add custom feeds, shows the number of listeners on a station and allows users to save their favorite emergency radio channels. 911 Police Radio HD is the same easy to use app as their iPhone version but showcases new, custom graphics developed specifically for iPad. The app can play in the background while other applications are running, and also includes scrollable 911 call reference codes.
Previously, this application was only available for iPhone and iPod touch. The app was so successful, that it achieved a Top 20 Free Utility App ranking in the App Store. That prompted the developers to offer iPad users the same experience.
“We made 911 Police Radio HD for the iPad as simple to use as the iPhone version and users still get the same great features,” said Quoc Bui, co-founder of Free the Apps! “The big difference is in the graphics, which we’ve custom designed for the larger iPad display.”
.
Although custom graphics have been designed for this HD application, iPad users are given access to the same list of features that iPhone users have:
* Slick, easy to use interface
* Maps
* Thousands of radio stations to choose from
* Ability to add custom feeds
* Stations are updated LIVE
* Save favorites
* Listen to stations in the background while running other applications
* See the number of other listeners to find out which feeds are the most popular
* Scrollable Police/Medical/Fire codes included for reference
* Unlimited number of uses per day
* Free app, Free largest network of stations to listen to
A nice bonus in this app is the inclusion of scrollable 911 call references. Users can find codes for police, fire and medical calls, to help them better understand what is happening with an event that they are listening to.
It should be noted here that Free the Apps! stresses that users should check their local laws before using this application, to ensure that it is allowed in their area. They also caution that it is illegal to use the app to aid in a crime. In other words, only use 911 Police Radio HD just because you enjoy listening to this type of broadcast.
