Actor! iPhone app on iTunes is launched

Sydney, Australia – Kitegirlapps are offering their latest job tracker software, Actor! 1.0 for iOS. This time for freelance working actors. It’s already made the Top 100 in the Productivity section of Ecuador and Madagascar.

The Life of an Actor:
The career of an actor can be a roller coaster, feast or famine; and work can come from a multitude of sources. The typical actor will have at least one agent they are listed with. They may also be listed with a promotional staff recruitment company, various theatre companies – both amateur and professional – and have their own shows or films on the go with friends and colleagues.

Being creative minds, priority is on creating new projects, expressing themselves, perfecting their craft and marketing or promoting to attract more work. Consequently, one of the last things on the priority list is paperwork which most actors hate with a vengeance. It’s the least creative job on their plate and so they often neglect it or leave it in the hands of others. This can leave them vulnerable to having payments missed which can keep the everlasting reputation of the “starving artist” well and alive.

The Problem Solved:
By using Actor! (with the exclamation mark) on their iPhone, the actor can quickly store a list of people they get work from regularly and any related expenses in the Referrers section. For example, their acting agency along with commission percentage and any tax they withhold. Then as they complete each job, they can store the jobs in the Jobs Section and attach one of these Referrers to it if necessary. Each job can be customised to add and take away further amounts applied just to that job.

For example, a freelance job done with a group of buddies would be:
* Group earnings (Gross amount)
* Less costume hire and parking
* Divided by the number of people in the group.

Or, a television commercial done through the Acting Agent would be:
* Day rate for the film shoot plus the loading fee (Gross amount)
* Less agents commission
* Less tax withheld (these two lines copy automatically from the Referrers section)
* Plus a Travel fee to get to the shoot
* Less $500 advance the agent gave them

So the Actor can quickly see the Nett total of what they are now owed and can tick it off once it’s paid. Actor! is not as complicated as a full accounting system and is a great quick reference for the Actor who hates paperwork. They can keep on top of what jobs have yet to be paid, who owes them and how much they can expect in the hand to pay the rent.

* US English, Russian and Spanish
